Abla El-Sharnouby
Prior to co-launching Five Missions More, Abla spent three years heading up the licensing and publishing department of a rapidly growing independent record label. Focusing on expanding the international reach of the label's publishing arm, she forged many lasting relationships with sub publishers and licensing partners all over the world. With a well rounded and firm grasp of the business side of what we do, Abla spearheads our international development plans, providing the solid foundation on which we continue to build.
Tom Simpson
Tom has been actively involved in independent music since 2000. His background is label based, building a extensive skills base in distribution, press & promotion and most importantly A&R. His role as 5MM is based in two key areas; firstly, identifying, nurturing and helping to develop up & coming talent. And secondly; client liaison where he helps to develop 5MM's brand, network and infrastructure.
In addition to which, he hosts 'The Dufout Radio Show' one of the most poplular weekly radio shows on Brighton's Juice 107.2FM and Totally Radio.
Alex Cowan
Alex has been writing, composing and producing music since 1999. To say he is prolific is an understatement! On top of releasing two solo albums under his TM Juke moniker, he also co-writes and produces with a number of other artists including UK soul singer Alice Russell, Danish pop artist Naim and much more.
He has toured extensively around the world, both as a DJ and a band leader appearing at Bestival, SXSW, Blues & Roots Festival, Glastonbury etc. His enviable talent for musical composition and production combined with an ear for what is ‘fresh’ in independent music makes sure we stay ahead of the game.
Russell Porter
Although not active in the actual day-to-day running of 5MM, Russell has for some time now maintained an A&R role for the company. His ear for identifying good music is second-to-none, cannily managing to anticipate and identify the next generation of hugely talented successful writers, producers artists. He is involved with with kinds of musical escapades including The Mercury Music Prize, Nothing To See Here and the (now) cult classic web tv series The Porter Report. He has pointed us in the direction of a number of our current writers. A task which we appreciate immensely, long may it continue. We salute you!
