Brasstronaut join the 5MM family (and we're celebrating with a free mp3!)...
We're delighted to announce that Five Missions More have just signed a publishing deal with Brasstronaut. The horn-wielding Vancouver based-band are not quite pop, not quite jazz, nor classical… they’re not really anything immediately identifiable in fact. They do, however, create strikingly beautiful and original music, itching to make a mark on your memories and starving hearts.

Hailing from British Columbia, Canada and signed to Toronto-based independent label Unfamiliar Records, the band are currently putting the finishing touches to their debut album set for release later this year.

The University of the West of Scotland have picked up 'Vernon Terrace' from 5MM songwriters The Lodge, for a brand new promo video. The promo will run throughout Spring in Scotland and you can check it out on our Synch Work page...

Over the last few months here at 5MM HQ we’ve been delving deep into the compelling & often clandestine (if a little grimey) world of up & coming/ independent music.
Our expeditions to all manner of interesting venues, pop-up clubs & strange Dalston basements have compelled us to gather up a selection of tracks from some of the hottest, current, up & coming bands to push on the synch front and bring you...5MM Present: Next Up...

Laura at the Summer Festivals
Singer/songwriter/musician/producer and all-round good egg, Laura J Martin, has been invited to play at both The Big Chill Festival, taking place in Eastnor Castle Deer Park 6-9 August, and The Green Man Festival a couple of weeks later in Glanusk Park, Wales 21-23 August.
If you can't make it to either of those, she also has some other European and UK dates coming up:

Super U News...
5MM published indie-folk 6 piece Super U have been busy bees of late - not only have they just released their debut single 'What News From Cornwall?' (backed with 'Places I've Been To Are Known' and 'The Word') on the Sack the Juggler record label, they've also been working on their new album 'We Live in Bazakhstan', set for release later in 2009.

5MM & First Word Publishing Deal...
We're proud to announce the completion of a deal that sees 5MM Publishing administer the First Word Records publishing catalogue.
First Word Records is home to Kidkanevil (of Stateless), 6ix Toys & the funkiest horn section in the UK, The Haggis Horns. An eclectic label which boasts a catalogue of modern soul, edgy hip hop and jazzy beats, FW have released music from Corinne Bailey Rae, Andreya Triana, Laura J Martin and many more.
We're really excited about getting to work on the music and proud to welcome First Word into the 5MM fold.

Inaudible Answer join the fray...
We are pleased to announce that we've just concluded a deal with brand new net label; Inaudible Answer. 5MM will publish the songwriters who release on the label.
Set up to promote as wide a range of music as they see fit and striking as good a balance between free and paid for content as possible, the label is looking to provide a platform for some really exciting up and coming artists.
The initial releases will have an electronic focus and will feature the striking debut EP from producer Huess.
There's plenty more to come from IA in the next 6 months, so keep 'em peeled...
Laura J Martin's 'Doki Doki' placed in Tang commercial
No sooner had we welcomed Laura aboard the good ship 5MM, than we placed her first single, 'Doki Doki' (released on First Word Excursions early 2009) in this Tang soft drink commercial (South America).
Laura is currently finishing her debut album; a wonderful mix of handmade folk and electronics. She'll be shopping the album to various labels in the months to come.
Rest assured there's a lot more to come from this super-talented young singer/songwriter/producer!
Aaron Jerome features in 90210...
5MM track 'Angel Lady' by Aaron Jerome which features Andreya Triana, was featured in episode 11 of brand new US TV series 90210: "an edgy, contemporary spin-off of the iconic drama Beverly Hills, 90210" as described by the network.
The song is taken from the splendid Aaron Jerome album 'Time To Rearrange" on BBE Records which is out now and well worth checking out...
Color Climax placed in Burn Notice...
We're pleased to announce the successful placement of 'Pa Coco Solo' by Color Climax in US TV drama show Burn Notice, which stars everybody's favourite B-Movie cult hero Bruce Campbell and was shown on the USA Network in America and the FX Network over here.
The song is on Breakin' Bread Records, a label that Five Missions More works with on a consultancy basis.
